I just wish I knew what I am supposed to do.
Neo in The Matrix Reloaded
What are we supposed to do in this broken world we find ourselves in? All of us live lives full of struggles. Relationship woes, varying levels of addictions, financial worries, health scares, and more, test our resiliency beyond anything we could have imagined.
What are we supposed to do?
We should strive to make our struggles meaningful, according to Pastor Nathanael’s message yesterday. Sure, we have the option to struggle through life and do nothing meaningful along the way—many choose this route. But doesn’t doing something meaningful during your struggle sound like the better way to achieve happiness, and please Jesus?
The sermon notes from yesterday say the following: “Getting into heaven is based on belief in Jesus alone. Believers who arrive in heaven and have made this dark world feel the weight and glory of heaven through how they have lived will be rewarded.” Examples of meaningful actions: 1. Serve your local church, 2. Give joyfully to those in need, 3. Give time and energy to serve people, 4. Continue the work of Jesus.
Our struggles have a purpose beyond what we can perceive in the moment.
Now let’s get out there and do something meaningful!
