Have you ever imagined yourself reaching a point in your life where you feel comfortable enough to really voice your opinions and concerns? I don’t mean a guarded voice, but an honest voicing of your opinion on topics that will leave you feeling vulnerable to criticism and potential loss of friendships. Maybe some of you feel that you’re currently at that phase in your life, at least behind the security of a keyboard. I think that many others have reluctantly chosen to give up their own freedom of speech, out of fear.
Ever since 2020, I have felt like more and more topics are off the table for discussion or debate. Perhaps, sadly, it is because virtually everything has become political. Additionally, social media has played a major role in the decline of civil dialogue and mental health.
Imagine what life could look like without a persistent political lens. Imagine what life could look like without scrolling screens. What would you do differently?
